A practical guide to the most interesting celestial events visible from the Northern Hemisphere this year, including Turkey and Europe.

MAR 3
TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE
Blood Moon
A total lunar eclipse visible across large parts of North America, Europe, and Asia. The Moon will turn a deep red for approximately 60 minutes during totality.
Best viewed from western locations in Europe and Turkey in the early morning hours.

AUG 12
TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
Path of Totality
Totality visible in Iceland, northern Spain, and parts of Russia. A significant partial eclipse will be visible from Turkey, the Middle East, and much of Europe. Use proper solar filters.
Never look directly at the Sun without certified solar eclipse glasses.
AUG 12-13
METEOR SHOWER
Perseids Peak
One of the best and most reliable annual meteor showers. Rates can reach 60+ meteors per hour from dark sites. The new Moon this year means excellent dark skies.
DEC 13-14
METEOR SHOWER
Geminids
Often the strongest meteor shower of the year. Bright, colorful meteors from the constellation Gemini. Excellent rates from northern locations.
Best after midnight. Moon will be favorable in 2026.
